Principle of Operation
Mercury in gaseous sample is collected via gold amalgamation
using sampling pump and mercury trap tube. The sampled tube is set into the
WA-4, desorbed and trapped onto another gold-amalgamation trap in WA-4. This
second amalgamation process ensures and purifies the mercury before desorbs and
transfers into CVAA (253.7nm) for quantification. WA-4 is applicable for both
hydrocarbon gases and environmental air analysis.
NIC offers High-Pressure Sampling Probe
(intrinsically-safe) for on-site natural gas sampling for mercury onto mercury
trap tubes, which ensures representatives sampling to avoid mercury absorption
especially when they transferred via additional medium like Stainless Steel
Bombs and etc.

WA-4 can be setup for aqueous analysis too. Set in
impinger, they are reduced using stannous chloride and trapped via
gold-amalgamation which later desorbed automatically and quantifies via CVAA.
WA-4 is in compliance with USEPA method 1631e, and is a
highly versatile analyzer for on-site analysis for both liquid and gaseous
analyzer. |
